Impossible is nothing...
Texas A&M University

Welcome!

Howdy!

Welcome to the online home of the Order of Aggie Illusionists - Texas A&M's celebrated magician student organization. Feel free to look around and get to know us better.

Those seeking to contact us for a performance should look under our "Need Entertainment?" page.

The Most Impossible Feat Ever Imagined...

...making it out of this upcoming weekend alive! Yes folks, that's right. The Texas Association of Magicians conference is this weekend, and the Order of Aggie Illusionists will be in attendance! Some of the best minds and biggest names in magic will be there, and with a line up of Whit Hayden, Jeff McBride, Max Maven, Michael Weber, the Buck twins, Eric DeCamps, and Doug Gorman (to name a few) this is going to be a crazy convention that will yield some amazing experiences both for laymen and magicians alike!

But wait... there's more!

Not only that, but to kick start the entire convention the Order of Aggie Illusionists have been invited to perform at the First Annual Austin Street Magic Festival! It's happening this Thursday, 2 September, on 6th Street at Red River. It's free admission and anybody is welcome to come out for a very unique night of entertainment provided by some of the best street performers you will ever witness. This is NOT your average sideshow!

And finally, we've been getting request after request from people interested in joining the OAI for the Fall 2010 semester. This is great! To cap off our weekend the OAI will be demonstrating our art at the MSC Open House on campus at Reed Arena from 1-5pm. Anybody interested in joining can sign up at that booth, ask us questions, or just plain watch a cool little performance.

If we survive this weekend, the OAI will resume weekly meetings post-MSC Open House, meeting dates TBA.

Spring Semester Update 2010

Howdy guys!

Hope everybody is having a great semester so far. Meetings have moved to Monday nights at 7pm in Blocker Room 149/150.

Although we weren't able to have a booth at this semester's MSC Open House, we are still able to take in new members. Membership is open to all TAMU undergraduate and graduate students, faculty/staff, or members of the Bryan/College Station community. We have members ranging from beginner to experienced magicians, and no prior experience with magic is required to join the OAI.

If you are interested in learning more about membership in our organization check out our Prospective Members page.

In other news, we’ve had a few officer changes. December brought with it not only the end of a semester but additionally a Sociology degree to graduating president and founding member Cameron Rivers, class of ’09. Congrats to him as he moves on up in the world. Cameron says that he’ll be dropping in often, and helping out at Order events when he can. New officers include Brian Stuckey, Li Fang as secretary, Calin Canahai as Vice President/Treasurer, and Clay Dippel as President. Shout-outs also go to our faculty advisor, Dr. Roger Schultz of the TAMU Performing Arts Dept., and Jacob “Suitcase” Perez, resident student magician & consultant.

In performance news, on February 13th Li, Calin, & I were able to represent the OAI as performers in the TAMU CSSA Variety Show. Through this venue we were able to gain valuable stage experience while performing for an audience of over 750 people. Also in February we were able to continue our association with the Village Café and the Arts Council Brazos Valley through Downtown Bryan’s First Fridays. We are privileged to have a standing invitation to perform at the event held on the first Friday of each month and plan to take advantage of such a unique opportunity in the future. (For more information regarding First Fridays, visit the Downtown Bryan website)

That’s all for now. As always feel free to contact us at any time if you have questions or requests.

Thanks & Gig ‘Em!

News Update 9 November 2009

Howdy!  The Order of Aggie Illusionists recently had the opportunity to perform for the Bryan/College Station Junior League Charity Ball, and it was a great success.  We had a few new members performing with us there and they did a great job.

New Website

Howdy, this is going to be the new website.  I am going to try and get everything set up this weekend as much as I can.  There will also be a members only area, which already exists and you get to by clicking user login at the bottom of the page, but you don't have the login for it yet.  Anyways, any feedback will be appreciated, drop me a line at suitcase@oai.tamu.edu
